The Amelia Trust Farm
The Amelia Trust Farm provide valuable educational training and recreational facilities specifically to young people who would be otherwise denied access to them.
Historically ‘Whitton Rosser Farm’ was owned by Sir Leoline Jenkins, a Cowbridge man who became Secretary of State to Charles II and principal of Jesus College, Oxford. In 1685 he bequeathed the farm to Jesus College and it was worked by tenant farmers until it officially became the home of The Amelia Methodist Trust in 1991. This was made possible by a monetary gift to the Methodist Church from the ‘Huggard Charitable Trust’.
This is a lovely place to visit , have a look at their website for more details.

Coed Hills Rural Artspace
Coed Hills is a must visit for everyone! It is a relaxing , inforamative and inspiring day out for everyone, young and old. It will make you think about Art in a whole new light. I love it!
Coed Hills Visitor Centre is situated in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan, just 8 miles west of Cardiff. In an area packed with ancient history and breathtaking beaches, the farm is a family day out that could change the way you view the world.
The whole site is run on alternative energy, from high-tech wind turbines, to solar showers made out of scrap radiators. With its permaculture gardens, the place is an inspiration for the budding eco-conscious. Residents and volunteers live in railway carriages, Mongolian Yurts, log cabins, tipis and straw bailed buildings.
Have a look around their groovy website to plan your trip.
Children’s Activities in the Vale
This site has some ideas for for days out in the Vale with or without children! There are activities which are perfect for rainy days such as a visit to Techniquest or for the more adventurous how about a Karting experience.
I can recommend the Welsh Hawking Centre.
Cowbridge Town Twinning Association
The association was established in 1991 as a Community Twinning Association with Municipal Support. Cowbridge is twinned with the Medieval town of Clisson which is situated at the confluence of the Sèvre Nantaise and the Moine rivers in the Loire-Atlantique Department in France.
Their Website includes photographs and details of exchanges with Clisson in France.
