For ladies for whom fashion is a passion, then Cowbridge is the only place to be for three days in October.
Renowned for its upmarket, often exclusive yet affordable fashion outlets, the Vale market town will be the centre of attention as it stages Cowbridge Fashion Week from Thursday October 8 to Saturday October 10. The events are sponsored by WM fashion magazine with all monies raised going to Ty Hafan children’s hospice.
The extravaganza kicks off with a shopping spectacular on the Thursday with the town’s fashion outlets theming their stores, opening late and offering a range of exciting discounts.
On the Friday the Bear Hotel plays host to a ladies lunch while the following day the Bear is again the venue for a Grand Finale black tie dinner and fashion show – yes, the guys are invited to this one and will no doubt enjoy some high profile celebrity ladies strutting their stuff in a range of latest fashion ware from Cowbridge’s leading stores.
And for the girls, Glamorgan cricketers and leading rugby union players are also expected to flex their muscles on the catwalk, so it’s a double whammy, good looking guys and fashion to die for!
There will be an auction and raffle with Ty Hafan the sole beneficiary.
WM magazine, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, is part of Media Wales, the country’s leading multimedia publisher. Advertising director Denise Rich said: “I was thrilled to be able to lend support to Cowbridge Fashion Week and in particular to the many fashion outlets in the town that have been such staunch supporters of WM over the past decade.
“And it is important that we not only celebrate the diverse range of fashion outlets in Cowbridge but also link this event to such a marvellous local charity that we all care passionately about.
“I am sure that both the ladies lunch and the dinner will be complete sell-outs; I’d just encourage everybody to also pop along to the late-night shopping on the Thursday and bag a bargain. I’ll definitely be there!”
Look out for information on ticket sales; they will be on sale in Cowbridge fashion outlets and from the Bear Hotel soon.
