Vale of Glamorgan Artists

A group of local professional artists have turned an empty shop in Penny Lane, Cowbridge, into an art gallery, opening at 10am to 4.00 pm on Tuesday 5th May, and every day except Sunday 10th, until Saturday 16th May. This event will recall for many the first “Art in the High Street” exhibition in Cowbridge by VOGA (Vale of Glamorgan Artists) that took place in March 1998.

VOGA artists will be displaying and demonstrating an even wider range of media for visitors to enjoy: painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and photography. Several of the artists will be working in the gallery at various times during the exhibition, and will be happy to talk to visitors about their work.

Local artist and teacher at Cowbridge Old Hall, Susan Edwards, was the prime mover for this show, and she comments: “The availability of this shop has made it possible to bring the studio into the bustle of town life once again. We are most grateful to the Landlord for letting it to us for this two-week period”. For more information on VOGA artists, visit their website: www.voga.org.uk
