The Vale Youth
Funky Dragon - the Children and Young People’s Assembly for Wales - is a peer-led organisation. Their aim is to give 0 – 25 year olds the opportunity to get their voices heard on issues that affect them. The opportunity to participate and be listened to is a fundamental right under the United Nations Convention Rights of the Child. Funky Dragon will try to represent as wide a range as possible and work with decision-makers to achieve change.
Funky Dragon’s main tasks are to make sure that the views of children and young people are heard, particularly by the Welsh Assembly Government, and to support participation in decision-making at national level.
This website is dedicated to the news, information, events and anything else going on in Vale of Glamorgan Youth Forum.
Famous people of Cowbridge
This website shows the famous people who attended Cowbridge Grammar School from 1604 including Sir Anthony Hopkins. Evan Seys and Sir Leoline are mentioned which clarifies to me where the closes in Geraint’s Way derived their names.
“Over the centuries Cowbridge school has produced many famous men. Many have reached prominance in Politics, Academia, Journalism, Acting or Sport”.

Cowbridge Choir
Cowbridge Male Voice Choir (Cor Meibion y Bontfaen) was formed in 1971. In 1973 they appeared on television and in April 1974 sang before H.R.H. Priness Alexandra at the Royal Albert Hall, London, sharing the stage with Dame Vera Lynn and Larry Adler. In 1994 they appeared with Anneka Rice (CMVC President) in Challenge Anneka.
The choir sing frequently in support of charities in the UK and abroad. We have just finished our fifth recording. This will soon be available on both CD and cassette. Membership has risen dramatically over the years and has now almost reached the 80 mark. We are still looking for members, so those who live in the area would be most welcome to take part in a rehearsal. These are held in Cowbridge Comprehensive Middle School every Wednesday evening during school term time. They start at 7:30pm and last about 2 hours. Visitors to the area are also most welcome to sit in on our rehearsals should they be in the area on a Wednesday evening.

The Automatic
One of the most exciting new bands to have emerged from Wales in recent times, The Automatic formed in the not-very-rock ‘n’ roll town of Cowbridge, but their disco punk sound should easily establish them as stars.
